Advice to Aspiring Pitchforks
I really want to try out for pitchforks, but I am scared they will reject me. What should I do?
If you really want to try out, you definitely should. An important mindset to adopt is overcoming the fear of rejection. If you try out, the worst thing that could happen would be for you to get rejected. I’ll even share a personal anecdote that hopefully makes you feel better. Last year, I tried out for cheerleading, and I didn’t make it. I was super upset at first, but by the time football season came around, I was honestly glad. I got to go to the games with my friends, and I realized cheerleading wasn’t for me. If the absolute worst thing that could happen is rejection, just try out. If you make it, that’s awesome, but if you don’t, you may realize it wasn’t for you, or you can always try again next year. It is always good to push yourself to try new things. You should be proud of yourself for even going out there and trying out at all. Also, if you never tried out, you would never know if you were going to make it or not. If you try out, though, at least you won’t have to wonder if you would have made it. Just remember, the worst thing that could happen is rejection, and rejection is not the end of the world.
