The Bowling Team is a newly created sports team this school year! The SPHS Bowling Team has a JV and Varsity team. There are six people on the JV team and eight on the Varsity team. They have practices every Wednesday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, and there have been about ten tournaments for both JV and Varsity. The bowling team worked very hard this year to have a successful first season. I interviewed two Varsity bowling athletes about the season and their experiences.
Davis Kennedy states, “The season was very successful, and I enjoyed practicing and learning new skills with my teammates.” Antony Gospodinov’s favorite point in the season was “learning how to spin the ball,” which is a difficult and advanced skill. He found the tournaments “fun and enjoyable” and hopes the following year’s bowlers think so too. Hopefully, the bowling team will be a success next year as well!
