“It is always better to be honest with someone than to let them believe something.”

I broke up with my boyfriend over the phone and he was really mad. Should I feel guilty?

You should not feel guilty, but it may help to reflect on your actions and think about why your boyfriend may feel the way he does. In the long run, it wouldn’t have been fair to him if you kept leading him on. It is always better to be honest with someone than to let them believe something. If you only feel guilty because you think he’s mad, don’t be. If it would help you be more at peace, you could apologize for the way you ended things,  and maybe it would help smooth things over. It’s also a good opportunity to reflect on how you would feel if someone did the same to you. There is nothing wrong with breaking up with someone, but it is always a good idea to be considerate of their feelings when breaking up with them.

What would you do if you think your best friend is lying?

The best thing to do when you feel like someone is being dishonest with you is to not do the same to them. If you truly think that your best friend is lying about something serious, and it is making you feel like you can’t trust her, the best thing to do is to have a mature conversion. You definitely don’t want to accuse her of anything or have a harsh tone because it could all be a misunderstanding. Instead, tell her how you feel, whether that’s sad or upset over the fact that she might be lying to you. You can ask her if there is anything she wants to talk about. If she says no, the best thing to do is to drop it.
